A artista de reggae Etana anunciou que se encontra a trabalhar naquele que será o último álbum da sua carreira musical.
“I did four live albums, and the first one I did independently was nominated (for a Grammy) for the first time out of all the other ones that I did and then I did it a second time”, disse num concerto no Red Rose For Gregory, nos Hope Gardens, em St. Andrew.
“I’m looking forward to presenting people with not just the possibility of being nominated, but with something of substance and value that they can keep forever.”
Foi em 2008, que a artista lançou o seu álbum de estreia, “The Strong One”, pela VP Records.
Seguiram-se “Free Expressions” (2011), “Better Tomorrow” (2013), e “I Rise” (2014), pela mesma editora.
Já independente, lançou “Reggae Forever” (2018), o EP “Dimensions” (2019), “Gemini” (2020), e “Pamoja” (2021).
“Reggae Forever” e “Pamoja” valeram-lhe nomeações para Best Reggae Album nos Grammy Awards.
A cantora encontra-se no meio de uma batalha legal contra a VP Records, na qual está acusada pela editora de quebra de contrato, entre outras acusações.
A artista também se encontra em tournée. A Reggae Date Night tour começou a 11 de Maio e irá continuar até Agosto.
