Grand Park celebrates Valentineā€™s Day with romantic reggae

The annual Grand Parkā€™s Lovers Rock celebration, which is usually a live event held at the downtown L.A. park on Valentineā€™s Day celebrating the romantic subgenre within reggae, will be online this year from February 12 to 28 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Instead of DJs playing sets of romantic reggae tunes near the parkā€™s Arthur J. Will Memorial Fountain, it will consist of a playlist curated by several DJs that will be available on the parkā€™s Mixcloud and Spotify pages.

The DJs include Novena CarmĆ©l, the new co-host of KCRWā€™s ā€œMorning Becomes Eclectic;ā€ DJ Hoseh, who is a founding member of nonprofit radio station Dublab; model-turned-disc jockey Storm the DJ and others.
