Ruben Silva, better known as Rubi Dubman, was born in 1986 in a small town called Figueira da Foz, in Portugal. At the age of 8 he studied drums and percussion at the Conservatório de Música Davide de Sousa, but he had been practicing drums since he was 6 years old, in a garage of friends in the neighborhood.
At the age of 15, he started a career in hip-hop / rap as a producer and singer, releasing his first EP in 2003. However, it was at the age of 19 that he started making his first performances in beach bars. He has always worked hard in audio production, every day looking for new knowledge, sharing and gaining experience, keeping an eye out for new opportunities.
In his 20 years of musical career, he has produced great hits from hiphop, punk rock, house, kuduro, electro, dubstep, trance, trap, dub and reggae.
In 2011, he graduated in Music, Production and Creation at ETIC (Technical School of Image and Communication), having been a member of the reggae band “Bong Belly Pickney“. In this, he learned a lot about Rastafarian culture and gave several shows in different places in the country, such as “Sumol Summer Fest”, in Ericeira.
Addicted to Midnite, the song called True King changed his life, inspiring him to share a message of balance and respect. In this way, his solo project was reborn with a new face and a new name. Rubi Dubman explains: “As the name implies, I am focused on Dub. In a vertical or spiritual vibe, in each song I look for growth from the roots and towards the cosmos. Live will not attend a concert, but a trip to the countryside, relax and in a hypnotic reggae style. I want to leave in the heart and mind of every being that Peace and Love as well as values and ethics must not be forgotten. For that, we have to water the seed of conscience – this is the solid basis of my work and the message I intend to convey. ”
